More and More People are Choosing Sutton.
Founded by Empire Loyalists in the late 18th century, this charming Eastern Townships town is an increasingly popular destination for city dwellers who usually start coming to the area to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, outdoor fitness and cycling. There is cultural variety offered here as well through shows, festivals and exhibitions. Many people begin renting a cottage for the summer or winter and they eventually succumb to the charms of the region and decide to settle here for good.
In addition to the mountain, the magical landscapes and the vivacious, picturesque village, Sutton also offers essential services including a medical clinic with four doctors, dentists, a bilingual elementary school, a library, auditorium, financial institutions, a post office and a museum. There are churches with various denominations and shops to meet all your needs: restaurants, grocery stores, a pharmacy, a liquor store, specialty shops and more. The Sutton Fire Department, which includes a first responder’s service, is less than 7 kilometers from the Domaine Schweizer. The renowned Brome-Missisquoi-Perkins Hospital is less than a twenty-minute drive away.
Consider the Wine Route or the Townships Trail that both run through Sutton. Consider Le Cafetier, part of the Townships Cafés network. Consider the various events such as the Sutton Jazz Festival and the numerous sporting events like the Coup des Amériques, the new Défi Côtes Sutton and the Xtrail Mont Sutton. Consider as well the many cultural activities such as the Tour des Arts and the exhibitions at Sutton’s Museum of Communications and History. The whole area is full of activities to suit every taste.
